Growing up near Coney Island Scott was fascinated by the amusement park’s sights, sounds, colors, and people. Those influences along with a birthday gift at an early age of colorful markers inspired Scott to create art. Since then, he has never stopped drawing, painting, writing, and creating. He produces panoramic works of intricate detail and texture. Incorporating a wide palette of color and original short story titles he composes complex paintings that bring his vibrant subjects to life. Solo exhibits have included the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts, PhilaMOCA, The Chocolate Factory, Buzzer Thirty, Jungle Science, Index Art and BSB Gallery. Exhibitions have also included actors and musicians performing spoken word and musical interpretations of Scott’s story titles which add to the multi-media experience of his art and creativity. Scott is also the co-creator, writer, and host of the legendary public access show, "The Scott and Gary Show". A tongue in cheek mash-up of 1960’s TV dance parties with 1980’s bands. Retrospectives of the program have screened at The Museum of the Moving Image, The Museum of The City of New York, New York Underground Film Festival, Woodstock Film Festival and other film festivals across the country and is part of New York University’s Fales Collection.
Callie Danae Hirsch was raised in Rockland County, New York. She received her BFA from Parsons School of Design and an MA from New York University. She attended artist residencies such as Vermont Studio Center, CT; The Hungarian Multicultural Center, Hungary; and I-Park, CT. In 2008, she was awarded a commission from the MTA Arts & Design for permanent public art at 105 Beach Station. Her piece, titled "Vast," consists of three panels of faceted glass embedded in epoxy, fabricated by Mitchell Erksin.
Drawing inspiration from her lifelong fascination with the natural world, Callie's art serves as a conduit for introspection and communion. As a devoted observer of tidal pools, she has mastered the art of stillness, allowing her to perceive the subtle intricacies of existence. In her creations, she endeavors to translate this intimate connection into a shared experience, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the language of curiosity.
Her work transcends mere representation, transcending into a realm of contemplation and engagement. She offers a glimpse into the enigmatic beauty that surrounds us, beckoning us to pause, ponder, and embrace the wonder of existence.
